Even though we've been learning about many of these important leaders in our Biography Unit, we get to dive a little deeper into their significance with Black History Fridays. Last week we learned about Abe Lincoln! the holiday festivities begin last week at Simpson, with the annual Gingerbread House building! Yes, it was messy and yes, we had a blast! Dr. Fitzgerald also came to our class and read, How Santa Got His Job.
Students giving positive and constructive feedback to each other is one of the most powerful tools to enhance student learning! After finishing our recent informational writing pieces, students traveled around and read each other's writing, giving different types of feedback while reading.
It was a lot of work to plan and organize, so it was great seeing such a heartfelt program come together! We learned all about veterans and how we can show respect.
We had a blast celebrating our school and district on Thursday! We had lots of snacks, face paint, pin the football on the field goal and melt-a-bead Projects. Thanks families for all your help and donations! Our school is piloting a new computer program called iReady! It centers around creating an individualized education path for each student based on test results. We took the reading and math diagnostic tests on Friday! Everybody is very excited to start using the chrome books. Thanks to the families that donated headphones for us!
